Bringing the model-engineering community together.
The meeting hall has been redecorated and upgraded with heat-pump air conditioning to keep it warm in winter and cool in summer.
This year we are trying to put more emphasis on supporting each other's Model Engineering project work, by having "Model Builder's Workshop" evenings for mutual cooperation and discussion of model building techniques.
The Salisbury and District Model Engineering Society meetings continue to be on our usual evening of the third Wednesday of the Month in the Idmiston / Porton Memorial Hall (not too far from Salisbury) at 7:30pm.
Whoever you are, and whatever your age, gender, or experience level, you are welcome at our meetings.
We are a "broad church" when it comes to model enineering, and our members make models of everything from traditional steam trains, through to boats, clocks, and dolls houses.
Just come along to the hall on Idmiston Rd in Porton Near Salisbury at SP4 0LB, at 7:30 pm, and you will find a bunch of friendly model makers, armed with a kettle, tea and coffee plus biscuits for our mid-meeting break.
We are working on the programme of evening talks and other activities for 2025, listed on our Events and Evening Meetings Page, their dates will be advertised on that page of our website soon, so please do keep an eye on our website to see what dates the talks are on.
If you have any friends who might be interested in coming along to any of our meetings, please do encourage them to just come along and say hello. They don’t have be model makers, and they don’t have to contact us before “just turning up” (and they can contact us if they like, and we can generally offer them a lift to our meetings if getting to Porton is difficult for them).
